about

The Demagogue Reacts! features Paul Flush on Hammond, Sherman Filter and Fender Rhodes; Johan Vandendriessche on saxes, bass clarinet, flute, guitar and mad drums; Frank Michiels on percussion, Wave Drum, electronic gadgetry and didgeridoo. Special guest on tracks 3 and 4 is Jean-Marie Aerts on guitar.

Unlike the previous album (Action-Reaction) this recording from 2003 is not live but studio produced, although still in the D'Imprimerie, Brussels venue. We had fun with some overdubbing and editing but left the mixing to Denis Moulin (son of one of Belgium's most famous musicians, Marc Moulin). Denis did a fantastic job - it's not easy for musicians to leave a production entirely to someone else but we were delighted with the result.

Thanks to Yannick Willox and Benjamin Dieltjens at D'Imprimerie, Brussels for the great recording, and Denis Moulin for the briliiant production and editing.

Thanks also to Pascal Noël for his help in getting the original recording idea off the ground.

Neither of our two albums is available anymore (maybe on Ebay!) so it's great to be able to present them here via Bandcamp. We are proud of the musical ideas created during the time of The Demagogue Reacts! and hope you enjoy listening. As with many Bandcamp artists just pay what you think it's worth (that could be a mistake...).
